Applications Pending: Containment System and Increased Strength Radome Assembly

During the adaptation of an existing radome onto a new wide-body aircraft frame coupled with the increased impact velocities of the FAA requirements, the customer requested an additional means to reinforce the radome in the event of a large bird strike. During the research into options to reinforce the radome, a discovery was made that allowed the radome to be reinforced from the inside with minimal loss of mechanical clearance to the components with a material that was almost RF transparent. Read more on how to reinforce a radome from the inside with a secondary containment system.
