During the development of the Segway PT, numerous features both on the design side in addition to all of the technical innovations that were instrumental in making the product balance. This patent was in reference to the aesthetics and the mechanical look and feel of the components of the product. The lower portion of the control shaft [lower handle bar] was a critical design and structural element. This parent was about how the aesthetic design portion was solved and why this was unique to this product.
